The IKB ensures that Innsbruck's infrastructure works perfectly every day and is preserved for future generations. The IKB provides the basis for a high quality of life in Innsbruck, from the stable supply of drinking water and the generation of green electricity to internet connection, sewage disposal, waste collection and operation of the pools. Since it was founded in 1994, the organisation has reliably maintained existing operations and consistently taken measures to provide long-term positive effects for the people of Innsbruck.
Thanks to high-quality, stable service reliability, responsible use of our resources, innovative approaches, sponsorship in the fields of education, sport and culture and, last but not least, fun, sport and relaxation in the pools, the IKB was welcomed into the hearts of Innsbruck’s people long ago.
The IKB employs more than 700 people in 15 business locations and has two owners, the City of Innsbruck (50 percent plus 1 share) and TIWAG-Tiroler Wasserkraft AG (50 percent minus 1 share).
